THISORIENTATION series is an immersive performance by New Orleans' Asian performance artists whose practices include postmodern dance, music, poetry, media art, and karaoke singing.  Continuing our intention from Vol. 1 for each performer to experience reflection and processing as marginalized Asian artists in New Orleans. Thisorientation series remains political, transformative, and immortal. As we build stories, we portray how we're unseen, unheard, and unspoken. With our various Asian backgrounds, the performers will disorient you.     

XYZ PRISM and a Nola based dancer, Ryuta Iwashita collaborated on a contemporary performance multi-media art project during our artist residency program at C.A.C. (Contemporary Art Center) in New Orleans in June of 2020. This was our first attempt to try the 3D projection mapping for a performance.  This piece is still a work in progress, but we plan to perform this in public when after the Covid-19 pandemic is contained.  Trailer  

XYZ PRISM worked with Durado Brooks of Golden Hour Productions to work on a short video project documenting the mural at the New Orleans Healing Center by Nicole Salgar and Chuck Barrett.  The mural is dedicated to the memory of Lauren "Izzy" Irizarry, who took her own life in July of 2020.
