Dredging to make a way for a large ships to go through fueling up from a brand new L.N.G. storage tanks to export to the rest of the world’s currently choked oil and gas market. However, this dredging and the L.N.G. buildout is destroying the oyster farmers’ livelihood. “Oysters are dying”, says the Cameron Parish oyster farmer, Skye Leger. “Oysters are smuthered with dredging soil”, of which the soil of Calcasiue Basin is considered one of the toxic water in North American continent, because of all of the chemical plants all around this region. These chemical plants constantly discards chemical biproducts into the waterways without much regulations. This project was film for the Cameron Parish Fishermen and Fossil Free Media.
